Objet : Appel à communications – Trois panels sur l’extrême droite européenne, Congrès SISP 2026 (Trente, 3-5 septembre)
Chères et chers collègues,
Je me permets de vous adresser un appel à communications pour trois panels que je présiderai au prochain Congrès annuel de la Société italienne de science politique (SISP), qui se tiendra à l’Université de Trente du 3 au 5 septembre 2026. Les trois sessions s’articulent autour de trois axes complémentaires de mes travaux en cours sur l’extrême droite européenne : le néofascisme révolutionnaire d’après-guerre, les mobilisations transnationales d’extrême droite et la dimension religieuse de la droite radicale.
Panel 2.2 (Section 2, Théorie politique et histoire politique) « Revolutionary Neofascism in Europe: Transnational Networks, Metapolitics, and Political Violence from Jeune Europe to Third Positionism (1962-today) » Le panel est consacré à la génération qui, à partir de 1962, rompt avec la nostalgie parlementaire et formule un projet troisième-voie à la fois anticapitaliste et anticommuniste. Une attention particulière sera portée à l’enchevêtrement entre stratégie métapolitique et praxis armée.
Panel 5.4 (Section 5, Participation, mouvements sociaux, intérêts) « Transnational Far-Right Mobilizations: Historical Legacies, Contemporary Dynamics, and Emerging Trajectories » Les coopérations d’extrême droite par-delà les frontières y sont retracées, depuis l’Internationale Noire des années 1960 jusqu’à la galaxie identitaire numérique d’aujourd’hui. Les contributions peuvent mobiliser les outils de la sociologie des mouvements sociaux, de la science politique des partis ou de l’historiographie du néofascisme d’après-guerre.
Panel 13.6 (Section 13, Politique et religion) « Between the Cross and the Rune. Integral Catholicism, Pagan Esotericism, and Conversions to Islam in the European Far Right » Le panel interroge le lien ambivalent entre la droite radicale et le sacré, du catholicisme intégral à l’ésotérisme évolien, jusqu’aux trajectoires de conversion à l’islam.

I am circulating a Call for Papers for three panels I shall chair at the forthcoming Annual Conference of the Italian Political Science Association (SISP), held at the University of Trento from 3 to 5 September 2026. The three sessions articulate three complementary strands of my current work on the European far right: postwar revolutionary neofascism, transnational far-right mobilisations, and the religious dimension of the radical right.
Panel 2.2 (Section 2, Political Theory and Political History) « Revolutionary Neofascism in Europe: Transnational Networks, Metapolitics, and Political Violence from Jeune Europe to Third Positionism (1962-today) » The panel addresses the post-1962 generation that broke with parliamentary nostalgia and articulated a third-position project at once anti-capitalist and anti-communist. Particular attention will be paid to the entanglement of metapolitical strategy and armed praxis.
Panel 5.4 (Section 5, Participation, Social Movements, Interests) « Transnational Far-Right Mobilizations: Historical Legacies, Contemporary Dynamics, and Emerging Trajectories » Cross-border far-right cooperation is mapped from the Black International of the 1960s through to the digital identitarian galaxy of today. Papers may draw upon social-movement studies, party politics, or the historiography of postwar neofascism.
Panel 13.6 (Section 13, Politics and Religion) « Between the Cross and the Rune. Integral Catholicism, Pagan Esotericism, and Conversions to Islam in the European Far Right » The session interrogates the ambivalent bond between the radical right and the sacred, ranging from integral Catholicism through Evolian esotericism to trajectories of conversion to Islam.
Submissions are open on the SISP portal: www.sisp.it/convegno-2026/call-for-papers Submission deadline: 29 May 2026. Papers in English and Italian are equally welcome. Proposals from doctoral candidates and post-doctoral researchers are particularly encouraged.
