This Friday: The Gender of Activism, 3rd Session ‘Solidarity’
Dear colleagues, We are pleased to invite you to the third session of the international doctoral seminar “The Gender of Activism: Networks, Circulations and Solidarity in the Transatlantic Space”, which will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Washington D.C. time / UTC-4). This seminar is held in English, in a online format, and is open to all. It brings together doctoral researchers and scholars from various disciplines to explore gendered approaches to activism, transnational solidarities, and the circulation of ideas and activist practices across the Atlantic. ________________________________ Theme of the session: “Solidarity” With presentations by:
* Raquel Coterillo (Cantabria University (Dept. Labor and Social Security Law) and Georgetown University (Affiliate Scholar at the Workers’ Rights Institute)): Power, Surveillance, and Resistance: The Role of Solidarity in the Algorithmic Age * Soheil Asefi (PhD Candidate, The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY)): West Berlin’s 1980s and the Limits of the Transnational
Each presentation will last approximately 15 minutes, followed by a collective discussion.
